The Power of Blended Gifts

Jodi L. Bopp, CFRE

  • Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Campaign Director, Ohio Wesleyan University

For twenty-six years, Jodi L. Bopp, CFRE, has been a proud member of the nonprofit fundraising profession. She started her career as a gift processor/volunteer manager immediately after graduating with a BA in English from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. Over time, she rose through the ranks of the profession, gaining experience with annual giving, grant writing, event management, planned gifts, major gifts and administration. Currently, she serves the graduates, students, faculty and staff at Ohio Wesleyan University as the Assistant Vice President for Advancement and Campaign Director, a position she's held since 2014. In her current role, she leads a 19-person team responsible for all aspects of the development program - annual, major and planned - and is responsible for the administration of a $200-million comprehensive campaign. Prior to joining the OWU team, she served for seven years as Senior Director of Development at The Ohio State University and for nearly a decade as the Charitable Giving Director at Friendship Village of Dublin. Her work at Friendship Village focused almost exclusively on marketing and securing planned gifts, a skill she's continues to use into the rest of her career.

Jodi is a longtime member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, having served in numerous volunteer capacities including President and National Philanthropy Chair for the Central Ohio Chapter of AFP. In 2013, Jodi was recognized by the Central Ohio Chapter as Outstanding Fundraising Professional. She earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 1997, the youngest member of the chapter to do so at that time. She is a former member of the National Committee on Planned Giving and a former member and board member of the Central Ohio Planned Giving Council. In her spare time, Jodi enjoys singing second soprano with the Capital University Choral Union.
