- Director of Planned Giving, University of North Texas
Roy Grisham's successful career as a planned giving professional is based on his philosophy that philanthropic support should fit within the donor's lifestyle. For the past 10 years, Grisham has worked as the director of planned giving at the University of North Texas, helping alumni and friends identify ways to support the institution while extending their giving capacity. As a UNT donor and alumnus, Grisham's personal experiences offer unique insights into the donor perspective. Grisham supports UNT as a member of the 1890 Society, which recognizes planned gift donors, and the Mean Green Club, which supports UNT Athletics. He cheers on the Mean Green football and basketball teams as a season ticket holder for both sports. He also is a lifetime member of the UNT Alumni Association.
Before serving as a planned giving officer, Grisham had a successful career in insurance and international business. He is a frequent public speaker and presenter on topics such as planned gift options, insurance, and long term philanthropy. Grisham works closely with attorneys, certified public accountants, insurance agents, and financial planners to identify the best planned giving options for his donors.
Roy earned a bachelor's degree in business from UNT in 1981. He and his wife Lisa live in Denton County and have five adult children.
